Let’s talk movies . . .
Alesia, from FREEDOM central...
So did you hear the one about the writer who survived writing the book that almost killed her . . .
I’m DONE!! I wrote THE END and did my final edits and sent the book off to my O So Wonderful and Very Patient Editor, truly the Queen of All Editors, on Thursday. (In case you’re wondering, UPS overnight for a 5-pound manuscript to New York costs sixty bucks!)
Naturally, my attention now turns to all the movies I haven’t gone to see while I was on deadline . . . Can we have a moment of silence to appreciate Gerard Butler?
I’m DESPERATE to see PHANTOM, to see yummy Gerard (if anybody ever made me want to meet a vampire, it was him in DRACULA 2000) and also because there’s an opera singer in my new book so I’ve been researching the field a lot. (Right, it’s, like, work!)
Went to see HITCH Friday and it’s FAB! Very very funny and the always-delightful Will Smith was a scream. Talk about a great date movie!
I want to go see all the Oscar nominees, and all the very cheesy B horror movies (a secret vice of mine; I was one of the first in line to see RESIDENT EVIL, but don’t tell Lani or Michelle, or they’ll revoke my literary chick status!).
So, in the spirit of FREEDOM and the OSCARS and lovely BUTTERED POPCORN with REESE’S PIECES, please write and tell me your favorite movie you’ve seen lately and why – NO SPOILERS, PLEASE!!!!
Hugs and much salty popcorn,
Alesia, on her way to the movies

With a two-year-old, I don't get out to the movies very often, but my birthday is Saturday and the grandparents are coming for the day so maybe my Darling and I will get out to see Hitch!
We just saw both Resident Evil movies. I am a good wife and when I went out to rent DVDs I got both of them for the hubby. I wasn't all that impressed - I'd rather had character development than zombies!
The last movie I saw in a theater was The Incredibles and I loved it!

Ooooooo I loved Resident Evil!!! We watched the new one this weekend. I've been on a movie marathon so here we go.
Friday Night Lights--Loved it. Tim McGraw w/no shirt you cant go wrong LOL...plus I live in Tx so I can relate to the whole HS Football phenomenon.
I Robot - seen it and loved it the first time too.
The Village - good but not exceptional.
That Skycaptain movie - It was okay. Kinda fun in a cheesy 50's pulp fiction sorta way.
Ray - 2 *major* thumbs up.
Movie theater--Elektra - good but nothing to write home about.
Thanks for the heads up on Hitch!

ooh! thanks for the recommendations! (except gotta disagree on THE VILLAGE - thought it was one of the dumbest movies of all time! LOL)
ADORE Tim McGraw - and totally wish I could look like Jennifer Garner in her red leather Elektra suit . . .

I loved THE INCREDIBLES, too! A reviewer compared my Super Jessie books to that movie, so of course I had to go see it! Loved it!
alesia, who likes character development AND zombies :)

I thought of Jessie, too, when I saw it. I keep wanting to tell Juliette about it, but she hasn't see that movie yet. I did tell her about the scene where the teenager is invisible and said "He looked right at me!" Then toward the end when the girl tells her mother how sorry she is that she can't control her powers better, I thought, if she were blonde that would be my daughter!

How wonderful it is! Today, I had seen the film - "The Incredibles" this afternoon, My father also had seen this film in this evening. This cartoon movie is powered by Disney-Pixar.
In this film, I love the people's sensation, scene, bugbears. The scene is so sublime.
With the great imagination.
