Happy Saturday, Chicklets!

Ain't it sweet

I slept in this morning and it was fabulous. I've been gone a lot in April and we've been busy and this has been the first morning in a long while that I've just slept until I woke up. Okay. I woke up once because I forgot to un-set the alarm clock, but really I just pounded the top of the thing and rolled right back over.

It's windy out this morning and a little bit cool and my window was open so the fresh air was pouring in and I snuggled down under those blankies and closed my eyes and drifted. It was delicious.

Now I'm walking around smiling and feeling calm. Of course, I'm not in deadline hell like Alesia (I should probably be stressed that I'm not in deadline hell, but I haven't worked up to that level of neurosis yet today).

Now, don't get me wrong. My house is a mess. I pat myself on the back because I actually cooked three times this week and my hair's a mess. It's just not bothering me much. Sleep is such a wonderful thing. It just erases all that stuff.

So what de-stresses you, chicklets? Sleep? Wine? A little bout of retail therapy? What's your pleasure?

This is just sad, but I woke up at 5 am this morning, was unable to go back to sleep -- I'm stewing in my own deadline neurosis right now -- and so finally just gave up, got up, and went for a run.

But wine works, too.

I love waking naturally, too.

What do I love to do.... journaling makes me quite happy. A fabulous new fashion magazine does the trick, too!

Great blog you ladies have here!

truly,

Sylvia C.

CHOCOLATE!!!

A good pedicure!!! My sainted sister introduced me to the pleasure of sitting in a vibrating chair while someone massages my feet and paints pretty flowers on my toe nails. OMG, a good massage is downright sinful and relaxing. Doesn't hurt to eat good chocolate while relaxing either. ;-D

What destresses me? Spider Solitaire. BTW, I'd really like to thank you for that. My husband never sees me, the laundry doesn't get done, but I can tell you that when the hair's not done--a bun works nicely. Plus, it keeps the hair out of the eyes so I can see the cards better. Please tell me you have finally won that game at least ONCE. Give me hope that it's possible.

Having been just a *tad* bit stressed out myself this week, over things at work, equally stressed out friend and I decided to spend the day at the local hot springs spa (http://www.glenivy.com). It was a wonderful, relaxing, destressing day. Now, I'm back to the stress...

Susan,

Really, you have to blame Michelle for the Spider Solitaire. She's the one who told me about it. And no, I've never won the four suit spider. Sad, isn't it?

THE BEACH! Nice and warm, soothing sounds... always been my favorite since I was a kid.

Ooh, I love the ocean. In fact, Thing One and I are going to try to get scuba certified this summer. Nice choice, Amber.

So far, I agree with everyone's choices. And add reading and knitting. As to the Spider Solitaire, I swear I did win it once. But really, as with all the trickier solitaires, you have to change the bar - instead of going for winning, go for getting a higher score than last time. Or something. Eases the frustration a bit.

Video slot machines. They're an evil, expensive way to relax but they do the trick.

Getting lost in a great book is a great distraction. Chocolate never hurts.
